Congratulations to you all. LLNB thanks each and every one of you for helping to make LLNB the biggest and the best volunteer literacy organization in the province! You're all #1 in our books!

Minto StoryFest

Do you have an interesting story to tell or know someone who does? The Minto Literacy Council has received funding from the National Literacy Secretariat to host a StoryFest in Minto on November 3, 2001. We are interested in hearing and documenting local stories - truth or fiction. image - storyfestFor example, did you know there were fashionable cattle rustlers in Minto many years ago? It appears that cow thieves once put rubber boots on a stolen cow to keep them from getting caught. The boots disguised the "clop, clop" sound the hooves made while walking across the wooden bridge!

Take out your pen and paper and join us for a trip down memory lane! If you have any questions or would like to submit a story, please contact us for more information. And please, if you know someone who would be a great storyteller, give us their names and we will be sure to contact them, too.

The StoryFest Committee is:

Jane Wasson - 327-3926
Vonnie Connolly - 327-3481
Doris Belliveau - 327-3483
Brenda Despres - 327-3545
Lionel Girouard - 327-3750

You Wanted to Know

Have you got a question you need answered? Here is this edition's question and answer column, compiled and submitted by Julie Kean Marks, our Field Services Coordinator. Julie will work hard to answer any and all of your questions regarding Laubach books, materials, training, council operations, recruitment, and anything else you may have questions about.

How can our council arrange to have a visit from the Laubach Field Services Coordinator?

Julie Kean Marks, FSC, would like to visit each LLNB council once a year to exchange information and to provide a link from the councils to the provincial and national Laubach organizations. You can arrange to have Julie attend one of your meetings by contacting her at:
